January 27, 2008 - A Tale of Two Prequels
The countdown continues to the 100th Anniversary of the Lucy Maud Montgomery classic Anne of Green Gables (published June 13, 1908) with the release of two prequels.

Sullivan Entertainment has finished filming the prequel movie Anne of Green Gables: A New Beginning, starring Barbara Hershey, Shirley MacLaine and Toronto native Hannah Endicott-Douglas as a young Anne Shirley. The film is set to air on CTV this Spring.

Penguin Canada's publication of Before Green Gables is set for publication next month. The book was written by Budge Wilson and commissioned with permission from the Montgomery heirs.
