Peter Coyote (Romney Penhallow) narrates:

Blond, all-American and made by a Jew. A filmmaker inspects Barbie's deep roots.
By Heather Maddan
Although Barbie may seem to be an Aryan ideal, the doll was the brainchild of a Jewish woman named Ruth Handler. San Francisco filmmaker Tiffany Shlain, founder of the Webby awards, considers Handler's role in creating Barbie one of pop culture's great ironies and explores that notion in her new film, "The Tribe: An Unorthodox, Unauthorized History of the Jewish People and the Barbie Doll... The film, narrated by Peter Coyote, premieres Saturday at a sold-out screening at Herbst Theatre. It will also screen at the Sundance Film Festival in January...

Brief review for cult classic Logan's Run starring Michael York (Ezekiel Crane). Recently released, The Island, ripped off the- er, I mean, had a similiar plot.

Logan's Run
By Michael Idato
Life is idyllic, with the strain on the Earth's resources managed by killing every person on their 30th birthday in a gruesome ritual known as Carousel. A chance meeting pairs Jessica 6 (Jenny Agutter) with Logan 5 (Michael York). The pair flees the safety of the dome in search of a legendary place called Sanctuary, with Logan's colleague, Francis 7 (Richard Jordan), in pursuit...

Michael York is New Camelot King for AMTSJ
By Ernio Hernandez

"...York — known for his film roles in "Cabaret," "Three Musketeers," "Murder on the Orient Express," "Logan's Run" and to younger audiences as Basil Exposition in the "Austin Powers" films — will take on the role King Arthur in the AMTSJ staging of the musical Camelot which features a new setting in a new book adapted by creator Alan Jay Lerner's son, Michael Lerner..."

Good article Jan. Maybe Michael Mahonen can play Mordred in another wierd father-son scenario.

Here's a brief mention of Faye "No wire hangers ever" Dunaway (Countess "My inheritance has dwindled so I drink vodka and mumble in a yet-to-be identified foreign accent" Polenska)

Best & worst TV in 2005
By Sonia Mansfield
Worst... “The Starlet” — Faye Dunaway channeled her inner-Simon Cowell for this horrible reality show that wanted to be “American Idol” for young actresses. Dunaway catchphrase — “Don’t call us, we’ll call you” — is pretty much how viewers felt about the show.

Speaking of Michael York...

Kevin Sullivan had it wrong. York wasn't Gus Pike's father... He was Homer Simpson's father! Ironically, Homer originally thought his dad was a guy called Abe! Sound familiar?

The Simpsons Homers Paternity Coot
Before Homer was conceived, Mona had an affair with a lifeguard named Mason Fairbanks (Michael York). He sent her a letter trying to convince her to leave Abe, and also to say he knew who the baby's real father was. Homer tracked him down and found that he was an extremely wealthy treasure hunter. Jackpot! Just to be sure though, they took a DNA test and found that Mason is indeed Homer's biological father. The family quickly abandoned Abe and latched on to Mason and his philanthropy...
