Re: Anne Inc.

I don't quite get this one. A cracked slate face scrub? Anne hit Gilbert over the head with a slate. She didn't run a washboard over his face! This is a stretch. LOL...I am laughing because I do not get it either. It sounds like a April fools joke and yet I know it isn't. Lol, it makes me laugh too...

Re: Home is Where the Heart is (Season 6)

Thanks Miss Lewis for that great review! :D Patricia Hamilton did a great job with this role. She should have won a Gemini for best supporting actress, but while nominated, she didn't win. The writing was very good in this too and Rachel is very believable, unlike her later appearance in "Davey and ...

Re: Avonlea Mismanagement of Funds

So sorry it's taken me this long to respond, Miss Lewis. Yes, the child and John Churchill are reunited in a happy ending. However, Churchill was guilty of the crime and that is one way the narrative differs from the series. Also the child is a boy and not a girl.

Re: Alike Avonlea — Light & Heartwarming — Films & Series

What a coincidence, Timothy! Both Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and The House of Eliott were nominees to 46th Emmy Award (1994) in category Outstanding Individual Achievement in Costume Design for a Series and The House of Eliott won. Thanks Serge for letting me know about The House of Elliot. Somehow ...

Re: Sara Stanley leaves Avonlea!!

I can see Nanny Louisa rushing to put a shawl over Sara's shoulders and saying something like, "Sara dear, you'll catch your cold!" Of course, it's the middle of summer!

Re: Avonlea Mismanagement of Funds

Here's a mismanagement of funds that was the plot that started the series and the reason Sara was sent to Avonlea. In Journey Begins, Blair Stanley faces embezzlement charges after the Montreal businessman's accountant, Mr. Abernathy, flees with the money from Stanley imports. To my knowledge, I was...

Re: Avonlea Mismanagement of Funds

Yeah, he's kind of easy to forget. Fitzsimmons was a rather boisterous reverend who first appeared in 'Vows of Silence,' probably because of the 'end of the world' theme. He was only in one other episode, Evelyn. Other than than he really didn't have much impact on the series. To my knowledge he is ...

Lol, I definitely don't want to get on Peg's bad side.

Hmm... Come to think of it, did our dear friends on the Anne 3 boards bother Peg?

It's been a while since we visited this subject, but Anne Inc. is still thriving! I don't quite get this one. A cracked slate face scrub? Anne hit Gilbert over the head with a slate. Re: Alike Avonlea — Light & Heartwarming — Films & Series

Thanks for sharing Serge. I can definitely see the similarities. I remember around the time of the series, Avonlea was often compared to Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. The series took place earlier, starting in 1867 and was set in Colorado Springs. I suppose there are some Victorian styles in Dr. Quinn ...

Re: Avonlea Mismanagement of Funds

Good catch Miss Lewis, I didn't notice that. I guess maybe Fitzsimmons pulled it off.
