Or the King family! I can remember a number of episodes in which Sara Stanley, Felcity, and Felix played the role of detective!

I can't believe that the neighbor heard a gunshot and saw a figure standing outside the front door of his house, and didn't bother to notify the authorities??? Wow. All those intrigues of Hollywod's silent era really fascinates me. I love reading about the early days of Hollywood! What do you think ...

I agree that Janet was probably looking out for her daughter's best interests, at least in her own mind. After all, it was Janet who gave Felicity a talking to, about opening her heart to Stuart in the first place. And she definitely worked at nudging her out of her despair over losing Gus. This beh...

I think Sara is quite the independent spirit, and the few "romances" she did have just didn't quite seem to fit to her, at least for the place she was in her life. Perhaps the Preacher's son was the closest fit, seeing as they both lived rather uprooted lives. I liked Sara's youthful crush on Wild B...

I always liked Izzy outfits of season 6 and 7. Something about the clothes made her look so lady like and beautiful. I voted for her. Her outfits of the last two seasons are great fashions and make up for her “boyish” look of the first five seasons. I agree, Izzy made quite the transformation. I re...

I think they did a great job in portraying Felicity and Gus's reunion. Everyone was happy to find out that Gus was alive, but they put some very interesting road blocks in the path to ultimate happiness for the couple. It is fairly similar to what the Waltons TV show did with Mary Ellen and her husb...

Great information! I don't understand how someone could be that bitter and morally empty to attack a show like Avonlea, which only sought to promote healthy family values. I think most viewers don't take the show as a literal interpretation of life all over turn of the century Canada. But aside from...

I kinda enjoyed his presence, although perhaps if he had stayed on longer, I would have tired of his character. But he breathed a bit of life into Sara's character, and the series in general. I think they could have gone about this in other ways, rather than using romance as the means. As Sara Polly...

I really liked both characters, although Felicity's character grows and changes in more meaningful ways. Sara is kind of a static character, aside from the episode in which Nanny Louisa and Aunt Hetty are fighting over her, and making plans for her life. Felicity's character really spans quite an ar...

Great idea Lady Jeanne. The feast that comes to mine, besides the sawdust pudding is Chef Pierre's haggis. :) I absolutely LOVED that episode in which Chef Pierre and Mr. Tremain are fighting over the haggis. Isn't that the same episode in which Aunt Hetty keeps correcting people on the pronunciati...

Actors are so highly paid, I can't believe it when they gripe about money. I wonder if it came down to the fact that, she has her bills and living expenses, and she had the choice between doing the Avonlea episode or some other more lucrative project. I can understand if she perhaps took some other ...

well, the lighthouse, by all means! boots and a ring might be the only thing i'd own, but GIVE ME THE LIGHTHOUSE!!!! My thoughts exactly, Ol'Gus! I think being a lighthouse keeper would be a fine life. I don't really like modern conveniences. They are more like modern distractions. Do we really nee...

As can be seen from her rather incendiary political activism days, I think Sarah Polley has a tendency to lash out at things, from time to time, and focus only on the negative. That series really helped to further her career, and for many of her fans, that's what put her on the map. She had free wil...

Ah...some of those names have reminded me of episodes I had forgotten about!

I loved the episode with the astronomers from Munich. Especially the end when "Il Profesori" asks Jaspers cousin(?) to be his Marie Curie. That was really an unforgettable episode!

Ah.....school is keeping me quite busy. My classes are mostly online, so I have to keep up with the discussion board for school as well. Of course, I'd much rather be spending my days wandering across the beaches, roads, and gables of Avonlea! I'm really enjoying the quotations game that Timothy sta...
