Re: 1.6: Proof of the Pudding

Another of the best episodes. An episode of pure hilarity.

Re: Quarentine At Alexander Abraham's

It is one of the very best episodes of the entire series. Alexander Abraham steals the show with his dry putdowns of the pompous Rachel Lynde. He had three people enter his home without his permission and then he had to live with them. That he did not murder Rachel the first day is a testament to hi...

Re: High Society - Season 3

Felicity was arrogant, self-centered and selfish. She only apologized in "High Society" because she got caught in her lies. By the time the series ended, the writers had changed her into a completely different character. Of course, people change sometimes over time, but becoming a completely differe...

Re: The Felcity/Hetty Comparison?

I could definitely see Felicity growing up to be a lot like the Hetty of the first couple of seasons. Bossy, unyielding, holier-than-thou, opinionated, vindictive, etc.

Re: Hetty's 'Out of Character' Experiences

There were several instances of different characters acting "out of character" during the run of the series. Some of it was probably necessary to take the series where they wanted it to go and it always happens a bit when you have different writers working on different episodes. Sometimes it worked ...

Re: The Emmy's and Road to Avonlea

The Emmy's were in the middle of category controversy during the run of Road to Avonlea. Christopher Lloyd did not win for "Guest Actor" as they did not have that category the year he was nominated and won. He won the regular "Lead Actor in a Drama Series" award. His award was controversial because ...

Re: RTA ranked in 10 best Canadian TV Shows of the Past 25 Years

I would put Degrassi at number one as well. It is an amazingly honest and open-hearted show about teens, warts and all. It shows teens as they are and not as they appear in those rose-colored glasses most adults use to view teens. It is a show that takes chances and tried to matter. You can't beat t...

Well, those were definitely three of the best episodes. She certainly must be a talented writer.

Re: Gus' fate...

Well, they stuck Gus in a mundane job with the idea that he wanted to marry Felicity and have a family. Why he wanted to marry Felicity at all is not believable but they had to find some reason for him to stick around and attempt to become more provincial. Putting him in the lighthouse helped his ch...

Re: What is your most favorite episode and why?

I vote for "A Mother's Love." Any episode where Felicity gets what she so richly deserves is a favorite. "Proof of the Pudding" would be runner-up. "Quarantine at Alexander Abraham's" would be in third place.

Re: Sara Stanley leaves Avonlea!!

I continued watching after Sara left, but the series was never the same. The entire series revolved around her and when she left the series lost it center. I never cared for Felicity but she did serve a purpose. The only point to Felicity being so completely arrogant, selfish and self-centered was s...

Re: Why is Davey so Hated?

It was pretty obvious they just brought him on to try and fill the void left by the original children growing up. He was not particularly well-written. He seemed pretty one-note most of the time but unlike his sister he did have some personality. The episodes that featured him are the ones I always ...

The original opening credits were the best. The setting of the series was more up front right where it should be.

Re: Stuart McRae

I never saw what redeeming qualities Gus Pike ever saw in Felicity. She was arrogant, selfish and self-centered. I kept hoping she would marry Stuart, so poor Gus could find someone else. I would say Stuart dodged a bullet and years down the road he will be thankful he escaped.
