Timothy wrote: I'm not upset. I just believe that if anyone, whether it's a journalist, producer or actor, bashes RTA then it deserves a response in defense of the series.
Exactly. That's how I feel as well. RTA may be a lot of things, but it would never deserve to be called "horrible" in such a public way!

The bottom line is that if you REALLY love somebody, you'll do whatever it takes to make them happy, even if that means losing them. Felicity was clearly still deeply in love with Gus, but Stuart put his own insecurities and hurt feelings ahead of Felicity. He was willing to marry a woman who wasn't...

You know, she has every right to be bitter the way her character was handled. She began the series as the focal point, and then took a back seat to Felicity. By the end of her time on the series her character hadn't developed the way it could have been. That said, I still feel that her statement wa...

Hmmm...Very interesting! I used to watch the show ages ago when it was on PBS, and I remember liking it.

Side note: I wonder if Polley finds Ramona to be "horrible" as well...???...

I guess, for me, the WAY she looks at Arthur at the end is most troubling. To me, that look doesn't seem to simply say "Bye." It's always seemed to me more like a sort of "I must have you now" look. But the rest of your assessment does make a lot of sense.

I used to read the books, so I thought I'd watch the film. I thought the Felicity movie was cute--good, wholesome family viewing, and the girl who played Felicity was really good, imo. But I'd take Avonlea over it any day! \\ I didn't see it, as I'm in Ireland, but the girl who played Felicity was ...

It seems like they also did a movie about another one of the "American Girls," Samantha, but I'm not positive. That's the doll that I have and her story takes place in 1904 so it'd be a bit more akin to the Avonlea world.

I was right! Look here...

Thanks for the info, Texasgirl. I have the Sullivan DVDs so it doesn't sound like I'm missing anything by not having the Disney ones. Oh, and for future reference, if you make a mistake in a post, you have the option to go back and edit it. I know I've done that a fair few times myself. Cheers, and ...

I completely agree with you, Timothy. It's one thing to be embarrassed about having been on a show, but to call it "horrible" implies that anybody who worked on it was "horrible" as well. And you're right to point out how ironic it was that Sarah said that about Canadian drama series. Road to Avonle...

Might be the 6th worst, but Jonathan Ravenhurst Blackwell is my man to sweep Sara 'off her feet'. He is her equal in money and station in life. As for age, please no Stuart comparisons. Ha Ha! Well, at least JRB was good-looking (those eyes!). Maybe that's why I could never really see him as that a...

It's a tough one. I would have to say season 4 because there's a lot of focus on the Gus and Felicity relationship, although I really love seasons 1 and 2. They were based more around Lucy Maud Montgomery's work and there's a certain charm there.
