What are did you think of (7.13) So Dear To My Heart?
What was your:
Favorite Moment: When Felicity goes to Rose Cottage in her wedding dress and tells Aunt Hetty that she better come to the wedding or she is going to stay there in her weddding dress until she changes her mind. When Sara and Felicity see each other before the wedding ceremony begins.
Who Steals The Show: Felicity and Gus
Favorite Quote: "It's good to have you home son." Alec King
"I would have miss your wedding in the world." Sara Stanley
"If that is a proposal then I accept." Gus Pike
What Didn't you like?: That we did not see what really happens to Felix and Izzy's relationship after that kiss in Women of Importance.
Comments: I would like the episode alot better if they made it a 2 hours show for the final show. Then the show would have been so rush.

What are did you think of (7.13) So Dear To My Heart?
What was your:

Favorite Moment: Hetty's final speech. It seemed to encapsulate the spirit of the series while echoing Montomery's love for the island. It also gives a fond farewell to all of us.

Who Steals The Show: Stuart McRae... Just kidding. Hetty.

Favorite Quote: "...where ever you wander, whatever glorious adventures lie ahead of you. You can rest easy knowing you have a place to come home to... The fairest spot on earth. Our Avonlea..." -Hetty King

What Didn't you like?: I agree with everything you said Roo. Wrap up Felix and Izzy, instead of leaving us hanging. And yeah... 2 hours at least for the final.

Hi!
Favorite Moment: When Felicity thinks that Gus is unconscious, thus she asks him to marry her. And a conscious Gus answers her:" That's a proposal I accept"

Who Steals the Show: Gus & Felicity

Favorite Quote: I refuse to get married without you! -Felicity King( to Hetty)

What didn't you like?: I agree with everything you said, and I have no other ideas. Felix and Izzy's relation-ship needed an end.

Comments: It was a nice episode.I think the major story line was Gus and Felicity's marriage which completed the story. However, as the last episode,it could be more effective.

What are did you think of (7.13) So Dear To My Heart?
What was your:

Favorite Moment: Gus sitting by the lighthouse, brought a lot of memories back!

Who Steals The Show: In the end, Gus and Felicity.

Favorite Quote: 'We just ate lunch!' Gus.

What Didn't you like?: All the loose ends.

Favourite moment: Felicity rushing off to Rose Cottage to demand Hetty be at her wedding. Also, Felicity's pseudo-proposal (the obvious error in it notwithstanding).

Who steals it: Who do you think? ;)

Favourite quote: Hetty's toast.

What didn't I like: That the whole episode was so rushed. I also think a two-hour special would've been better. The Fuss would still get their moments; but then, there'd also be some closure to the Fizzy storyline, a little more Jollie (Jasper and Olivia), Sara would have the chance to interact more with her family. I also thought it would've been nice to have the "long, lost" King relatives (Andrew and Roger, and the MacEwans) there.

The best parts are of So Dear to my Heart:

----Felicity, in her wedding dress, going and getting Hetty King (“I refuse to get married without you“ and when Hetty refuse she says “then we will stand here until I rot in this dress“).
----Felicity and Gus getting married. It’s about time. This was a great way to end the series.
----Hetty King’s speech at the end. After hearing Hetty’s speech, I want to start watching the whole series over again from the beginning.

There is so much I dislike about this episode too: The worst moments are:

----Gus being blind and then gaining his sight back . If he was blind, which I never liked anyways, at least keep him blind.
----Aunt Eliza isn’t at Felicity’s wedding. I wanted a funny Aunt Eliza's remark. I loved her words of wisdom.
----No Felix and Izzy moment.

Even though this episode ends the series, it doesn’t rank in my top ten favorites of all time. I love and yet hate the episode. But perhaps I had too many high of expectations for it to ever appeased me.

I love this episode. It's definitely in my top 10.

Favorite Moment: Seeing Gus and Felicity FINALLY married!

Who Steals the Show: Gus and Felicity

Favorite Quote: "It's so good to have you home, son." ~Alec (take THAT, Stuart McCrae!)
"If that's a proposal, I accept." ~Gus
and of course, Aunt Hetty's speech

What Don't You Like: I sure do wish we would have gotten a little more of Felix and Izzy's relationship.

Comments: I love the closing theme for this episode!

Some of my favorite moments from these two episodes:

*When Janet asks Felicity if she still thinks of Gus (who is presumed dead) and Felicity responds, "Not that often...when I can't get to sleep at night or when I first wake up in the morning."

Sounds "often" to me...

*When Felicity receives the mysterious phone call from Charleston. As she impatiently tries to get out of her wedding dress, it's as if a dam of emotions is breaking--emotions she has denied herself for a long time. I think she was "content" with the idea of marrying Stuart until the phone call revealed her true feelings.

*When Felicity finally finds Gus, but Gus tells her to return to Avonlea and go on with her life. She responds with a determined spirit that she will not leave unless he comes with her.
So often during the series, Felicity was indecisive about her life, her future, and Gus. In that moment, it was as though she had "grown up", knew what she wanted and was going to fight for it.

*Finally, when Felicity and Gus return to Avonlea and she finds a quiet moment to tell him about Stuart. She begins by telling Gus about the pain and anguish she suffered upon hearing of his death. I love the look on Gus's face. It's as though he realizes he isn't the only one who has endured pain and suffering during the past several months.

Two touching episodes!

Yeah, this episode makes me cry too when I watch it. At least if I'm watching alone  . My family thinks it's silly to cry over a movie, but this episode is just to happy... and sweet... besides, it's the LAST!... that I just get kind of teary anyway.

Are we to understand that Gus got his sight back over time? Is that what the producers intended to portray?

I think so.

Favourite Moment: When Gus tells Felicity he accepts her proposal.

Who Steals the Show: I would have to go with Sara with this one because viewers have not seen her since "Comings and Goings". Her appearance made viewers happy that all of the characters were together once again.

Favourite Quote: "Ahhh don't blame yourself Olivia, nothing will change that old birds mind." ~ Alec

What didn't you like?: I agree with everyone who says that Felix and Izzy's relationship should have some sort of conclusion.

Comments: This was a great way to end a great series with lovable characters who have been a part of our lives for seven years and still are.

I agree. That way they could have cleared up the Fizzy story as well.

Both Return to Me and So Dear to my Heart felt way too compressed to me. It always seemed like they should be a miniseries. And definitely in need of some Fizziness!

Favourite Moment:

- Alec hugging Gus

Who Steals the Show:

Felicity, Gus and Hetty

Favourite Quote:

"It's good to have you home son."-Alec King

What didn't you like?:

- I agree with everyone who felt there were too many loose ends. There was no felix and izzy, nothing about simon tremane or the hotel, and even though Sarah was there we hear very little about her.
