Most Annoying Character Awards
Most Annoying Character Awards
It's time to select the most annoying Characters to ever grace the town of our beloved Avonlea. Here are my picks:
Betty Blaine from 'King of the Great White Way' - Unbearably annoying, like a stereotype that's been overdone a million times. I think she was patterned after one of those bird-like creatures in 'The Dark Crystal.'
Booth Elliot - The cake walking, tickling the ivory... Oh, and Davey Keith wants his hair back.
Brett and Ian McNulty - They were pretty much the stars of 'From Away,' which says it all. After robbing Hetty, are we supposed to be happy that the brothers are uniting in a hug? No wonder it's rated dead last.
Countess Polenska - How much valium did Faye take before stumbling into 'A Tangled Web' for this lethargic performance? It was like Faye was wishing she was in one of her old movies completely separated from Avonlea, mumbling her lines incoherently with a bad accent. Did anyone tell her she was on Road to Avonlea? I hardly doubt she even knew what the series was about.

Davey Keith ~ Especially in seasons six and seven. Did we need to see him that often, especially when the series was winding down? Go. Away!
Nat Lester ~ In the words of Jo Pitts, "Shove off!" No, you're not (insert name of favourite deity here)'s gift to women.
Donny Lester ~ See Nat Lester.
Velma Bugle ~ She annoyed me from "Yoohoo! Felix!" I'm not into guns, but right now I'd love to my hands on a 12-gauge.
Isabella Carrington ~ I have a word for her. It's a synonym for a female dog. But since I probably can't say that here, I'll go with "supremely annoying diva."

Jonathan Ravenhurst Blackwell - His enunciation was torture to sit through, as was this episode. An embarrassment to the series!
Pigeon Plumbtree - Couldn't stand the woman. She was like a caricature, not a real person.
All of Jasper's family - Jasper didn't seem so eccentric after that.
Booth Elliott - What Timothy said.

Hmmm...It's been ages since I've seen the Booth episodes, but when they originally aired I remember thinking he was really sweet and was glad Sara had a bit of romance. Ah well.
Anyway, as far as annoying goes...Davy Keith, Arthur Pettibone, and Stuart McRae. Yep, there's only one man for Felicity! Although...If I remember correctly, Arthur wasn't annoying in the later episodes. We'll just say Arthur in season 4. Oh...and new Cecily. Bring back Harmony Cramp!

The Queen of Annoying is Sally Potts. She's smarter and prettier than anyone in Avonlea and has Jane Spry to prove it. When I was viewing the audition DVD, I was shocked to learn that Tara Meyer was to play Felicity. Talk about 'switched at birth', that would have pushed me over the edge.

Mrs. Potts - even though she is so funny. "Maybe Jasper can fly around the building with a paintbrush."
Davey and Dora - I dont really enjoy seeing them at all.
Joe Pitts - couln't belive that she was anyone but sara.
Jasper's cousin - couldn't belive that either.
Jaspers family - gesh.
Alec's brother - unnecessary episode.
