In 'How Kissing Was Discovered', Felicity says that she is 13 and three-quarters. According to an entry in her diary, the month that this episode took place was in June. This would suggest that her birthday is in either September or October and that she was born in 1890.

Gus Pike's age is mentioned in the Bantam storybook for 'A Dark and Stormy Night.' Writer Gail Hamilton remarks that Gus was "Not seventeen" when he first arrived in Avonlea, suggesting that he was sixteen in the second season.

I don't have the source handy, but I'm pretty sure Sara Stanley is 12 years old when the series started.

The OP wants to hear how Michael Mahonen sounds in real life, as opposed to his "Gus" voice. I think the best way to do that would be to track down some of his non-RTA work.

edited to add...

Felix is about three years younger than Felicity. In "Incident at Vernon River" (set sometime during the fall/early winter?), from S4, he celebrates his thirteenth birthday. In another episode during that season, it's mentioned that Felicity is sixteen.

Cecily is about nine (I think?) when Daniel is born ("Misfits and Miracles"). This would make her about five years younger than Felicity, and two years younger than Felix.

Thank you so much for ansewering :) But i got now an other question to ( hope i can post it here :?: ). Mahonen was a grownup who played a young teenage boy ( if you can say it like that :D ).And his other co -stars ( Avonlea children ) where in real life children to. So was it hard for him to act with children, i mean like these itense play between him and Zamprogna?

Michael Mahonen was a little over 12 years older than Gema Zamprogna during 'How Kissing Was Discovered' (Michael was 27 years old and Gema was 14). According to a comment by Kitty Hadley during AvCon 2007, Michael was aware of the sensitivity concerning the age difference and was careful only to kiss Gema on the cheek during this scene.

I think it is mentioned that Sara is 11 when the series starts. This would make her 1 year younger than Felicity who would have been 12 that year. Like Shelly mentioned, Felix's birthday is supposed to be a few months before Felicity, making him just under 3 years younger than her.

In the Bantam Skylark book for the episode 'Felicity's Challenge (Fall 1903),' it's mentioned that Sara is 12 and Felix is 11. In 'Witch of Avonlea,' Felix is 11, according to his letter to Peg Bowen.

That's strange because it is clear that Sara and Felicity are not the same age. In the Dinner Felicity says to Sara, "I'm 16, you'll know soon enough." Felicity would have to be 12 in the first season since she is 13 in the 2nd season.

I agree Hannikan. Sara was probably 11 at the beginning of the series as you mentioned and maybe turned 12 before the fall of that year. Too bad her birthday wasn't mentioned.

I remember I was 12 when I first watched RTA (season 1), and I know Felicity was my age. Sara was 11. It is quite clear that the two of them are not the same age.

Something else I do other than like RTA, Anne of Green Gables and playing the Sims2 is to research my family tree. I have a program on my computer to enter info and for the heck of it I've entered the King Clan even though they are fictional. This is a report on them:

Descendants of ? King

1 ? King
.. +??
... 2 Heziah King 1838 -
........ 3 Hetty King 1858 -
........ 3 Alec King 1859 -
............ +Janet Ward 1860 -
............. 4 Felicity King 1890 -
................. +Gus Pike 1887 -
............. 4 Felix King 1892 -
............. 4 Cecily King 1895 -
............. 4 Daniel King 1905 -
........ 3 Olivia King 1866 -
............ +Jasper Dale
............. 4 Montgomery Dale 1907 -
............. 4 Alecia Cooper Dale 1912 -
........ 3 Roger King 1870 -
............. 4 Andrew King 1890 -
........ 3 Ruth King 1871 - 1894
............ +Blair Stanley
............. 4 Sara Stanley 1891 -
... 2 Arabella King 1840 -

(the dates for Heziah and Arabella are a 'guestimate')

Also, in the "Avonleapedia" here, it mentions Daniel as being born in Feb of 1905
