Well, IMO Felix has to be 10 in S1 based on Friends and Relations and Incident at V. River. I always thought he was born in the fall due to the time of year it seems to be in Incident. ETA: But here's another thing I remembered in Fools and Kings, ep 4 of S6, Simon says that Felix must be nearly 16. That episode appears to take place in the late fall/early winter, as well. There's snow by the end of the episode. Seems like it was supposed to be the first snow of the year. Based on the 10 in S1 time line he'd only be 15 in S6...

I always thought it should go like this...
S1=9-10 (having his birthday early in the season so 10 for most of it)
S2=10-11
S3=11-12
S4=12-13
S5=13-14
S6=14-15
(16 in the year btwn S6 and S7)
S7=17-18 (since there's 1.5 years btwn S6-S7 and S7 might be longer than 1 year)

I suppose a lot depends on what Janet meant when she said Felix was just born after Ruth died. Did she mean minutes? days? months?

Mm, that's interesting I'd forgotten that. I don't rewatch S1 much. I always thought Sara was 11 when the show started. Since she finished school after S5 and Felicity stopped after S4, I took that to mean she and Felicity were a year apart. In Home Movie, Sara says she was 3 when Ruth died, so that would mean Sara and Felix are 3 years apart. I always thought they were 2 years apart, and he and Felicity 3.

Couldn't she have meant to say "when Ruth..." (took sick). Depending on how fast her condition deteriorated that could put Felix 2 years younger than Sara, instead of 3. Although, I always got the impression that the onset and progression of the disease was rather sudden... That being said, one must consider that Blair Stanley was quite a wealthy man and would have done anything to save her, (I would think), so she would have gotten the best medical care available at the time...

I don't think she meant to say "took sick." I think she meant "passed away". If Janet wanted to say "took sick/ill", she would've finished the sentence, IMO.

Yeah Janet says "It's been so long since we've seen you Blair Stanley. Felix and Cecily weren't even in this world yet. Oh now I'm wrong, Felix had just been born when Ruth..." I have to assume Janet was saying the last time they saw Blair was at Ruth's funeral, since she was buried on the Island. Obviously Blair would have come to her funeral.

Alec mentioned in HCMK that Felix was 19 when he signed the papers allowing him to enter the British Army to serve at the start of WWI. The papers must have been signed in the summer before he turned 20 in the fall. Since HCMK is 2 years after S7 ends, Felix must have been 17 at the end of S7, turning 18 that fall of 1912 when he was in England training with the Navy. So he was 18 in 1913 and 19 in 1914, turning 20 in the fall of 1914, meaning he's 20 when he returns to Avonlea for Christmas.

S1=10
S2=11
S3=12 (based on Jasper saying he's 12 in Friends and Relations)
S4=13 (based on Alec saying he's turning 13 for his birthday in Incident at Vernon River)
S5=14
S6=15
year between S6 and S7=16
S7=17
2 years off screen=18-19
HCMK=20

Avfan4vr has screen caps on her, site Avonlea Vignettes. She has one from the Journey Begins that is of Sara's mother, Ruth. If you use it be sure to cite her website: www.avonleavignettes.com

Here is a slightly larger version of the same picture without the frame from "Journey Begins" (I screen capped this one from the HD DVD set). Sullivan Entertainment listed the second picture in an ebay auction several years ago. I don't know who the lucky winner was, but at the time, I was more than a little upset that I had no money to bid on Sara's "Moonlight" dress.

An Avonlea Christmas - 1914 Christmas

* Because for one June is before July and it wouldn't make sense to show these out of order. (I know that happened later in the series) And if we don't pay attention to the month and say it's the same Summer, I know death was more common than but Sara would have just lost her father she wouldn't look like the happiest child on Earth whose biggest problem is that Felicity tries to play adult. She was just a kid who lost the one remaining parent she had, she probably needed some time to grieve.

** The scene at the beginning of the movie where Felix talks about the coming war with his parents looks like it was cut from this episode (both Alec's and Janet's clothes match the ones they were wearing on one of the meetings) and that newspaper says 1912. June 24.

This does not match every mentioned age, like Lucky isn't 8 when they say it's his 8th birthday, he is 11, or Felix's age doesn't match at the beginning (seriously does it match in any timeline?) but with others it works well for example Felix who was just born when Ruth died his 13th birthday more or less matches her death. And I think it matches every mentioned/shown date in the series. Also on http://www.roadtoavonlea.com the synopsis for the first episode says Sara was 10 when she went to PEI for the first time, and since she was 3 when her mother died that makes it about 1901.

Not to mention that if Felix would be eleven when they say he is that would make Sara about fourteen which is older than Felicity.
