A blonde, busty Anne of Green Gables
CBC Books

The red-headed, freckled, stick thin loveable Anne Shirley dreamed up by Lucy Maud Montgomery -- first for Anne of Green Gables and then a number of sequels -- has turned into a busty, blonde haired beauty. A new cover of the trilogy boxed set shows Anne's makeover from homely orphan to beauty queen.

What are your thoughts? The perception of literary characters can change through time. Is this or should this be the modern interpretation of Anne of Green Gables?

Turns out that Sullivan company had nothing to do with this. It is a new unauthorized version that made her blonde. I guess the upset Anne fans were emailing Sullivan Entertainment about it--so much so that Sullivan Entertainment sent out email about it. I got an email from Sullivan company that says " [we] firmly supports that Anne shall always remain a redhead".

But Wow-- Good Job Anne fans about for making a fuss about it!!! Maybe we have more power then we realize :D
