L.M. Montgomery Literary Society was created by jomarch
I was waiting for my World Literature class to start the other day when my Professor mentioned that she was once part of a Silas Marner literary society (yawn!). This gave me a wonderful idea. Why not create a society for one of my favorite authors?

So that's why with great pride and excitement I am announcing the world's first L.M. Montgomery Literary Society!

The Society home base will be on this forum, since this is the only place where LM Montgomery is still actively discussed (even though I disagree with much of the right-wing fanatical opinions on this site). Anyone can join as long as you are dedicated to exploring the works of LM Montgomery.

Let's start with a few ground rules:

1. When starting a thread for this society, begin with "LMMS" in the subject line. That will allow society members to know we are discussing important and ground breaking research and won't be discombobulated by "who is the cutest" type threads.

2. Cite evidence to support your claims. Don't be like Jossy and make wild uncorroborated accusations.

3. Don't make personal attacks on fellow Society members. Remember that great minds talk about ideas, small minds discuss people.

4. It's preferable that you have completed or are enrolled in a literature class. While this is not required, it will help prepare you for serious discussion and improve the value and quality of the research. It's also recommended that you be at least 18 years old. You really don't have a clear understanding of what life is about until you are 18.

Welcome to the Society! I look forward to advancing our knowledge of L.M. Montgomery!
